For 2010 we have geared up with some new and impressive machines to carry out the the work of silage making this season. The first of the Claas Xerion model tractors have been sold into New Zealand through Claas Harvest Centre Canterbury with two of these machines being run our fleet.
We have invested in new Claas triple mowers operated in a butterfly system set-up. These mowers will be powered by a Xerion 3300 VC tractor which will push the mowers from a reverse direction. The cab of the Xerion tractor is designed to operate in two positions, either in a front steer motion or can pivot around 180 degrees to work in a reverse direction for mowing or silage stack building work.
The other Claas Xerion Trac machine will be driving our impressive high capacity Claas 3400 Quadrant 4x3 baler.
With our Alkalage and Alkagrain markets growing rapidly we will be able to offer the service of making Alkagrain on farm for the 2010/2011 harvest. We can either crimp into 60 meter bags getting approximately 2 tonne of preserved grain per meter or rolling and out loading back onto a concrete pad or bunker. Mark Shera will be responsible for operating this machine would be keen to talk to any interested prospects about making Alkalage and Alkagrain.
