Stradbrook Robotic Dairy farm, NZ's frist commercial robotic dairy farm opened in September 2008. Since then it has served as an informational / educational location for people from all over New Zealand and the world to learn about automated dairying.
Owned and operated by the Carr Agricultural Group, Stradbrook started out as an 80 hectare dairy conversion near Mayfield and now showcases innovative dairy farming solutions while operating as a fully-functioning dairy farm.
At Stradbrook the cows milk themselves any time of the day or night and robotic gates open and shut alone, driven by the needs of the individual cow standing before them. Even the effluent system turns itself on and off, sorting fibre from liquid. The 5am/5pm guaranteed milking times are gone and cows now have the freedom to choose their milking times.
If you are interested in seeing the Lely automated milking system in action and how it could work for your dairy farm please contact usto make a time to visit.
