Established back in 1889, Canterbury (NZ) Seed Company was the first proprietary seed company and the business started out by picking Akaroa Cocksfoot on the Banks Peninsula and shipping it back to England. Since then, the company has developed into one of the world's most respected suppliers of grains, seeds and pulses. It has long been synonymous with the farming traditions of Canterbury, a region of New Zealand widely recognised as one of the most important seed production areas in the world.
