All levels of mycotoxins in feeds should be considered dangerous as even low levels can impact
negatively on animal production and the safety of human food derived from animals.
About 400 mycotoxins have been identified to date. Mycotoxins are poisons generated from the secondary metabolic processes which occur naturally in a variety of fungi. The amount and type of mycotoxins varies with the environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity during the growing, processing and storage of feeds. Aspergillus, the mould which produces aflatoxins, grows in warm, dry conditions. Fusarium, which produces zearalenone and the "T" toxins, grows in cool, wet conditions. Mycotoxins can have a very wide range of effects on animals depending on aspects of their production in animal feedstuffs.

Mycotoxins can have a wide range of effects on animals and birds. Depending on the severity of the contamination and toxins involved; severe clinical mycotoxicosis can result in lesions, abortion and death. Many symptoms are vague; for example low efficiency, reduced disease resistance and increased disease problems, and can be attributed to a number of causes. Typically monogastric species are at most risk to mycotoxins, but increasingly the harm done to horses and ruminants is being appreciated.

Ultrasorb contains biologically active components which counteract the effect of a wide range of mycotoxins by binding them into inactive or unavailable forms.
Three different active minerals have been included because they bind with a wide range of fungal secondary metabolites thereby allowing them to be voided from the animal without causing harm. A carefully selected and prepared yeast and yeast extract enhances beneficial intestinal microflora to maximize the degradation of fungal metabolites and bind to mycotoxins not bound to the mineral component.
Ultrasorb should be seriously considered wherever stock are under a regular mycotoxin threat to help maintain health and prevent mycotoxosis.

For regular preventative use and feed efficiency, administer 10g of Ultrasorb per head per day as a top dress to feed or incorporate into total mixed rations (TMR). Include in finished feeds at 1-2 kg per tonne. Safe for all classes of farmed livestock including cattle, swine, poultry and horses.
