A source of live, benefical micro organisms for efficiency improvements in dairy cows. Maximising rumen function and health should be the goal of every New Zealand dairy farmer because it lies at the core of efficient dairy production. Bio-Boost enhances rumen function and improves hind gut digestion whilst inhibiting the activity of potentially harmful pathogens.

Why use Bio-Boost?

Bio-Boost should be considered whenever animals experience stress related to feed changes, variable weather conditions, calving, crowding or transportation which may cause digestive upsets resulting in reduction of feed intake and lower growth and production levels. Bio-Boost offers particular benefits for cows:

• in pastoral systems where diet changes with every move of the break fence and appearance of every long white cloud
• slug feeding of concentrates and grazing which can disrupt fibre digestion
• whenever dung appears excessively wet and sloppy indicative of sub-acute rumen acidosis

Bio-Boost is proven to increase dry matter intake and thereby helps to reduce the unavoidable energy gap found in early lactation dairy cows, resulting in an increase in milk production and a decrease in loss of body condition, confirmed by 13 independently run trials across a wide range of animal performance levels.

The average return calculated over thirteen trails has shown 2 litres of milk response, slightly lower at low yields and slightly higher with higher yielding cows.

How Bio-Boost worworks

Bio-Boost contains specific, carefully selected (for performance, stability and resistance to the most commonly used antibiotics) unique strains of:

Lactobacillus acidophilus - a bug which normally dominates the intestines and suppresses pathogenic activity but can be overcome when animals are stressed.

Saccharomyces cerevisae - an EU Registered strain of live yeast which stimulates fibre digesting bacteria, binds to pathogenic cells and stimulates the animal's immune system.

Mannan oligosaccharides (mos) - fragments of yeast cell walls which bind both toxins and pathogens, facilitating their removal from the gut.

Bio-Boost will:

Provides a specific, viable strain of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the intestinal bacterium Lactobacillus acidophilis and a concentrated dose of the selected, bio-active mannan oligosaccharide sugars (mos).

Feed 5 grams per head per day, either top dressing feed or incorporating into TMR mixes.
